Elayne Heilveil

Elayne Heilveil is an actress, journalist and award-winning playwright. Her competition-winning short plays have been produced in New York (The Ferry Affair, SHINE; Till Paris; Eye of the Beholder), Los Angeles (The Hat, In the Habit, Miss Velma’s Class, Why Ask For the Moon, Ferris Wheel of Love, The Maestro) and Washington DC’s Cultural Arts Source Festival (In Between the Drops), and others throughout the country. She is published by Dramatic Publishing Company, Smith and Kraus and Applause Cinema & Theatre Books. Some recent works can be seen in anthologies “Best Contemporary Monologues (2015); “More 10-Minute Plays for Teens” (2015) and “Best Ten-Minute Plays” (2016.). She is a member of Theatre West in Los Angeles, Playground LA and At Rise Playwrights. As an actress she’s starred in theatre, television movies and series, and films opposite such actors as Dame Judith Anderson, James Garner, Rip Torn, and worked with writers and directors such as Mike Nichols (Family) and Jules Pfieffer (Hold Me) among others. She is a graduate of New York’s High School for the Performing Arts and Carnegie Mellon University.
